Orlando Pace is coming to the Arnold Sports Festival, but don’t expect the Buckeye legend to oil up and flex in a Speedo.
Event organizers have released information about this year’s Arnold Sports Festival, running March 3-6 in Columbus, and are highlighting several new attractions – including a Pro Football Hall of Fame exhibition.
Representing the National Football League’s all-time greats will be former Ohio State University player Orlando Pace. Along with Arnold Schwarzenegger, he will host a “chalk talk” for young attendees interesting in learning the ins and outs of football, Arnold spokesman Matt Lorz said.
“The Pro Football Hall of Fame is hosting a three-day event in the Terrace Ballroom at the Convention Center. It’s like a combine for youth, where they learn football techniques,” Lorz said in an email. “A highlight … will be a chalk talk for the kids with Orlando Pace.”
Hall of Famer and former Ohio State player Cris Carter was originally scheduled to attend but had to drop out because of a scheduling conflict.
Lorz said more details are forthcoming.
Organizers expect the 2016 Arnold, the 28th put on by Schwarzenegger and Columbus businessman Jim Lorimer, will draw 185,000 attendees and 18,000 athletes from around the world competing in 55 sports and events.
In addition to the Pro Football Hall of Fame exhibition, new events include Arnold Classic Wheelchair, baton twirling, indoor triathlon, Miss Arnold Teen Fitness Pageant and Taekwondo.
