“Twelve decadent chunks of freshly-baked brownies layered with six scoops of vanilla bean and chocolate ice cream, topped with caramel and chocolate sauces then buried in mounds of whipped cream – and we won’t forget the cherry” was the first dessert description I read off the Buca di Beppo menu. I knew I had to have it.
Our Marketing team, consisting of 6 women, headed to Buca di Beppo for our monthly marketing meeting. Considering I’m almost 6 months pregnant, the dessert list was the only temptation I could indulge in (good-bye yummy drink list). We decided, the group didn’t need much convincing, on the colossal brownie sundae. The picture and description did not do this thing justice. Out comes a giant martini glass filled to the tippy top with ice cream and piled high with whipped cream and sprinkles (they didn’t forget the cherry).
I was the first to pick up my plate as one of my team members scooped (or shoveled) brownie chunks, ice cream, and whipped cream on to my plate. I made sure to leave my plate up for the offering to get my fair share of this sundae; 2 brownie chunks each to be exact. There were just enough brownie chunks to compliment the smooth, creaminess of ice cream covered in syrup. The sundae was divvied up and we all dove in, spoon first! Silence came over the table, followed by lots of “Mmmms.” That sundae was gone in about 10 minutes.
If you are looking for a sweet treat that will have you thinking about the deliciousness for days, I highly recommend the Colossal Brownie Sundae at Buca di Beppo.
