Cameron Mitchell Restaurants’ headquarters will move a half-mile to the Arena District from its current Downtown headquarters at 515 Park St. around the end of the year, the company announced Monday afternoon.
Cameron Mitchell is the first tenant announced for Nationwide Realty Investors’ historic Buggyworks building at 390 W. Nationwide Blvd., which is completing an extensive renovation.
“We wanted to find a unique space to reflect the personality of our business,” said David Miller, president of Cameron Mitchell, in a statement. “This expansion will support our growing team and our vision for scaling and expanding our portfolio of restaurants.”
Cameron Mitchell will occupy 17,000 square feet of office space on the third floor of the Buggyworks building. That building and the other next to it in Buggyworks project, 400 W. Nationwide, contain a total of 145,000 square feet of space.
Nationwide Realty President Brian Ellis said the Buggyworks has drawn strong interest from potential tenants. Existing offices in the Arena District are nearly fully leased, and few offer the authentic historic details that the Buggyworks offers.
Founded in Columbus in 1993, privately held Cameron Mitchell now has 25 locations under 12 different concepts in 11 states. Its local restaurants include Cap City Fine Diner & Bar, M, Marcella’s and The Pearl. The company also has extensive catering operations and operates the cafe at the Columbus Museum of Art.
