Columbus named a Top 10 city for hosting sporting events

Columbus is recognized in the Sports Business Journal’s Top 10 list of “Best Sports Business Cities” for hosting sporting events. The publication focused on cities that have been the most successful at attracting and hosting sporting events, which are major economic drivers for the community.
Major recent events are cited in the article, such as the 2018 Division I NCAA Women’s Basketball Final Four, 2019 and 2023 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball first and second rounds, and 2024 Prevagen U.S. Figure Skating Championships. The upcoming 2024 MLS All-Star Game and 2027 NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Final Four are also big wins for Columbus, further cementing the Capital City as a sporting event destination.
