A professional women’s soccer team is coming to Columbus.
The National Women’s Soccer League awarded an expansion franchise to Ohio’s capital and announced that the team will begin play in the 2028 season.
NWSL commissioner Jessica Berman was joined by Columbus Crew owners, investors, and city leaders at ScottsMiracle-Gro Field for the announcement.
“Columbus has shown what is possible when a community rallies around its team,” Berman said. “I can’t wait to be here with you for your inaugural match.”
