The Columbus Blue Jackets revealed their schedule for the new season and for the first time they’ll play on the road in Las Vegas.
The new regular season starts Oct. 6 vs. the New York Islanders at Nationwide Arena. The club will play 82 games with 41 dates at home.
This season’s schedule will see the Blue Jackets play every team in the NHL at least once at home and once on the road, including games against the NHL’s 31 st team, the expansion Vegas Golden Knights.
The National Hockey League awarded Las Vegas a team last year. The team travels to Sin City for a 10 p.m. game on Jan. 23. and hosts the team at 7 p.m. March 6th.
Other highlights include taking on Rick Nash’s New York Rangers at 7 p.m. on Oct. 13 at home and another home game (same time) vs. one-time Central Division rivals and Western Conference champs, the Nashville Predators, on Nov. 7.
The Stanley Cup champs – Pittsburgh Penguins – come to town for a 6 p.m. game on Feb. 18 and again at 7 p.m. on April 5.
The Jackets will host four-game homestands from October 19-27 and March 6-12.
