May 2, 2016
Cameron Mitchell Restaurants LLC is moving its corporate headquarters to the iconic Buggyworks building that’s undergoing renovations in Columbus’ Arena District.
The restaurant holding company signed on as the office complex’s first tenant, saying it will leave 515 Park St. for 17,000 square feet on the third floor of 390 W. Nationwide Blvd.
Developer Nationwide Realty Investors Ltd. expects the move will take place in the fall.
“We wanted to find a unique space to reflect the personality of our business,” Cameron Mitchell Restaurants President David Miller said in a press release. “This expansion will support our growing team and our vision for scaling and expanding our portfolio of restaurants.”
Cameron Mitchell Restaurants will move about 70 employees from its 12,500-square-foot office.
The company will occupy the top floor of a 1950 addition to the original Buggyworks building, which dates to 1902.
The newer standalone portion, between Huntington Park and the original structure, will have 30,000 square feet of office space on one floor. There will be 98 parking spaces on two levels.
The original timber-framed Buggyworks building at 400 W. Nationwide Blvd. will have 115,000 square feet of offices on four floors. Cameron Mitchell Restaurants is the first tenant for either of the buildings, which are east of the offices and residences recently renovated by Kyle Katz.
“We are thrilled that renowned Columbus restaurateur Cameron Mitchell will be moving into the Buggyworks complex,” Nationwide Realty President Brian Ellis said in the release. “The project has gained significant momentum since renovations began last fall.
