TASTE OF BOOM! AND POST-FIREWORKS FESTIVITIES IN THE DISTRICT

Taste of BOOM!, part of the Red, White & BOOM! Independence Day celebration in Downtown Columbus, will kick off at 3 p.m. along Nationwide Boulevard in the Arena District on July 3, 2009.

Presented by the Arena District and sponsored by Labatt Blue, Mike's Hard Lemonade, Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi and Bacardi Mojito, Taste of BOOM! will feature live music and food from some of Arena District's best restaurants from 3 p.m. until 11 p.m., providing great entertainment long after the fireworks finish.

Restaurants participating in the event include:

  • Arena Grand Movie Theatre
  • BD's Mongolian Barbeque
  • Big Bang Dueling Piano Bar
  • Blue's BBQ
  • Boston's Gourmet Pizza
  • Gordon Biersch
  • Hyatt Market Stand
  • Jason's Deli
  • Max & Erma's
  • Rise & Dine and
  • W.g Grinders.

The Red, White & BOOM! fireworks display will begin at 10:00 p.m. Several Arena District businesses are holding special post-fireworks festivities. Avoid the traffic and finish off a fun-filled day with a bang!

The Arena Grand Movie Theatre will host Red, White & Popcorn featuring $5 movie tickets (www.ArenaGrand.com).

Frog Bear & Wild Boar is hosting the "Official After BOOM! Party," featuring well-known eighties retro band Reaganomics (www.FrogBearBar.com).

The Big Bang Dueling Piano Bar will perform great hits (www.TheBigBangBar.com).

Other Arena District restaurants and bars will be open as well, including:

  • BD's Mongolian Barbeque, Buca di Beppo and Ted's Montana Grill - Open until 11 p.m.
  • Cotter's and Max & Erma's - Open until 12 a.m.
  • Gordon Biersch - Open until 1 a.m.
  • O'Shaughnessy's Public House and R Bar - Open unitl 2:30 a.m.
  • Boston's Gourmet Pizza - No set closing time
