Arena District Kickball League Kicks Off New Season with 45 Teams
Columbus, Ohio - Jun. 2, 2009 - The Arena District Athletic Club Kickball League will kick off their fifth season on Tuesday, June 2 with a record breaking 45 teams signed up to play. Games for the co-ed recreational adult league are played at McFerson Commons on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights during the upcoming summer months.
Arena District tenants are excited for the season to begin, especially those businesses that are fielding teams of their own, including GBQ Partners, Shottentein Zox & Dunn, Jones Day, Lifestyle Communities, Internal Revenue Service, American Electric Power, Crowne Plaza Hotel, Arena District Athletic Club, Diamond Hill Investment Group, Mercer Human Resource Consulting, Cotters Restaurant, Boston's The Gourmet Pizza, Residential Finance Corporation, Columbus Blue Jackets and Accenture.
League competitor Boston's The Gourmet Pizza will also serve as the sponsor, marking it as the official post-game watering hole for the more than 650 kickball players.

The league is a great opportunity for Arena District businesses to get involved with the local community, and a little healthy competition never hurts either!
The season consists of eight regular season games, followed by a single elimination playoff tournament. Game times for regular season games are 5:45 pm, 6:30 pm and 7:15 pm. The championship game will take place on September 3.
The overwhelming response to this kickball league over the past five years has been fantastic, and it continues to grow, said Bill Brown, Commissioner of the Arena District Kickball League. Kickball is a lot of fun, especially for adults. It takes them back to fourth grade gym glass, not to mention the opportunity to get outside and enjoy the weather during the busy work week.
